Why are you so shocked at the customs/brokerage fees? Use USPS whenever possible and you will not go wrong!! I have passed up quite a few good deals because I refuse to pay UPS any longer because it adds at least 60% to my costs. I will probably end up making a long road trip (Calgary-Reno) to load up my Suburban with parts from Summit after camping in Yosemite. It will be cheaper than paying the OOPS fees...

When you order something from a store in the US, their FedEx or UPS fees are only given for the US side of the fence. They cannot tell you what the customs/brokerage fees will be and then their is the FedEx or UPS fee for transit on this side of the fence.
