Levi Stubbs, who sang on Motown band the Four Tops' biggest hits, has died at his home in Detroit aged 72.
Allot of the older folks here enjoyed some of his baritone voice vocals growing up dancing.
The band last appeared together in April on US TV's Late Show With David Letterman.

The group were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Baby I Need Your Loving was a favorite of mine.

I still skate to thier music.
This gettin old is tough.
All the greats I've grown up with are passing
nearly every day.
Sympathy to his family, friends and fans.

It seems like yesterday working my chores with my small sony transister am mono radio tied on a string around my neck Listening to the tops. Being moved so much by thier harmonies and there lyrics. I also remember Smokey Robinson and that ended up leading to being a Roy Orbison fan. I have never forgot how pure and real the old Motown sound was. Probly more from the heart than other music of the era. Levi was a Big part of those times and will be sorely missed.

I do miss those times, so inocent and peaceful. I often wonder what the world would be like if TV and "the Media" never came to pass? Fear and brutality has stolen our innocince.

So true!!!! My mother always had music on in the house when I was a kid and everytime an old motown song comes on now it immediately reminds me of something from my childhood. RIP Mr Stubbs
