My Dart has a mildly built 360 in it with a summit camshaft/lifters and a stock volume oil pump.Since it sits a lot and only gets started maybe a couple times a month the lifters are fairly noisey for the first few seconds of start up.After the oil pressure comes up it runs smooth.Should I be concerned?Could this be damaging the lifters or pushrods?
Thanks for your opinions /advice .

lifters bleed down after setting for awhile...as long as they stop clacking after oil pressure comes up...

Pretty much all hydraulic lifter motors do exactly that, and it is totally normal.
It's actually normal for them to do that for a couple of seconds if you run it every day.

Thanks for the input.kinda what my gut told me. I may be being a bit overly cautious as the last engine I built wiped a cam lobe at start up. I don't remember my old 318 having any lifter noise except for on really cold mornings.
