I have for sale a used, Melling high volume oil pump for the SB engines, P/N M72HV. This was removed for a stroker 360 LA mild bracket engine that was just seeing the start of a cam lobe issue. When I took this engine apart, the #1 intake lobe was just starting to go bad, so it was time for a redo. Since these pumps were extremely hard to get, I took this pump apart to see what it looked like inside as we considered reusing it. As it turns out it looked excellent with only a few marks on the impeller, so I smoothed them out and it spins perfectly without any issues at all. This pump only had about 40 runs on it. New pumps are now more readily available, so we got a new one. As can be seen in the one picture, it was clearance for the lower rear part of the oil pan. These HV pumps need that work done so as not interfere with the pan. It certainly beats banging the crap out of the pan.
