every mopar guy in the area had to of seen or heard the legend of this car. aparently a kid that went to vietnam ordered this car from a dealer in blackwood. Pollack chrysler plymouth i think it was. poor kid never made it back. his mother and father took delivery of the car. they drove that car till about the early 90's as a daily driver. i remember seeing it more then a few times. car was still all original but beat to hell. every panel dented has to have over 200,000 miles in it. can you imagine seeing a 70 year old coupe cruising in a hemi, 4 speed, manual steering, manual brakes, radio delete car? i can remember seeing it last probably in the real early 90's. herd that it was restored and still n the area. well it was at the highland high school show on sunday. a couple friends and myself were drooling over it and remembering where and when we saw the car last. yea its just another hemi runner but this one has alot of history in this area. i'm sure alot of people never saw the car buy heard the story of it. we talked with the owner, bill harrop (sp?) 60's drag racer bob harrop's son. he has about 10k worth of reciepts from work the old man had done between 1987 and 1989 at mt. emphrim dodge. top end rebuild, starter fire, new exhause etc...etc..etc... it was just real nice to see the car restored like it deserves and still in the area of where it was bought new and racked up all its miles.
