Formula Atlantic circa 1977...1600cc Ford, Ford or Cosworth head motors, only 180HP but in a very light chassis. Dual webers.

Exotics....The AMG and the Lexus were much lower RPM motors. Just rumbled out the turns while the rest really wound out.

And Drifting.....not a race at all, more of a style event but fun to watch and the cars are pretty wild.

Been many years since I've attended the Long Beach GP.... I was there the year Micheal Andretti won his first race.... I hit Fontana for the Indycars a few times... Had full media access including hot pits, great time...

Indy Car is currently really stocked with drivers. With the younger drivers like Herta, O Ward, Palou, and Harvey going against the drivers that have been around for a while like Dixon and Newgarten and Simon P the racing is going to be great.
I saw the IMSA cars, the ones you called the exotics at The 12 Hours of Sebring back in March, that was one heck of a show. Highly recommend that one.

Yea, IMSA has the 'spine' cars too, Cadi, Corvette, Acura, Mazda etc. Those are fricking fast! The 2 vettes killed the 1 Porsche this year, very low turnout for that class, no GT40's from Ford? There is a class change for 2022 that's gonna change things up. No experimentals this year. Those Delta cars from a few years ago were weird! All the ladies liked them.....:)

Ford brought the updated gt-40 back as a 50 year anniversary of the original. Story is that IMSA bent over to accommodate Ford. In the end Ford returned to endurance racing, won big and then left.
It is my understanding that the actual LeMans cars will be at Sebring for the March 2022 race. So that event will be a combination of IMSA and World Endurance Challenge cars.
Although one of the funnest races at last years Sebring event was the 40 minute Global Mazda Miata race.
