7-ish is stock, so you should be able to figure from there.

mancini has 8's and 9's

fyi, the u-bolt that are supplied with the lower block kit don't have enough thread engagement to use w/o the block. so something to look out for when buying off amazon or ebay if you're picking up generics.

I am going to use tapered shims to get the pinion angle correct and Randys trailer tie down lower plate which adds 1/4"

you're *probably* fine with stock 7 1/4 units or the 7 5/8" ones offered by mancini

hold on... i'll go measure some up to be sure for ya...

ETA: the ones i have here are 7 5/8" with 4" of thread, they will easily accommodate a shim and 1/4" plate. however i don't know what spring pack you're running. if it's 2" or less, then you're fine.

OK I musta missed that. I will recheck & measure my spring & tapered shims thicknesses to see what length I need. thanks Dana

Hey Robert they've got the gold 7-inch ones at AutoZone or Advance Auto they've even got the 8 inch ones...3" tube

I wouldn't think that if you have the original bolts that adding the tie down and a shim would cause problems. I've never run into problems with not having enough length on the bolts. Maybe post a picture or two of the problems you are running into.

My local machine shop can makes whatever I want. Been a while though. Used to be like 12 bucks. Just a thought.

Regardless of the U bolts you get BE SURE they have the flattened area in the U Or you WILL bend your housing (8 3/4) and get the torque specks from the FSM in 67 it is 45 ft lbs

the springs/tapered shims are 2" tall. not sure how much the shock plate adds and randys trailer tie down plate is 1/4". Is there a source for longer bolts with the flattened radius? yes I saw some longer ones that were not radiused & the torque spec was way higher than 45, dont remember the #. EDIT just saw the Mancini ones in the prior post. I think thats what I need! thanks guys, much appreciated. another problem solved...

I think Mancini racing has 2 lengths of their "restoration" u joints

Iirc I thought I needed 7" inch ones but in the end did not. I have 6 full leafs.

What are you trying to put on there
