24x28x12 shop. Looking for suggestions for a decent gable vent fan that won't put me in the poorhouse to help with the sweating concrete floor. Thank you drive through.

Can you build it? You want a door/ dampers for weather? Can you build those? Can you wire 240V to it? Not for high power, but if you find a junk outdoor unit of an AC/ heat pump, you could use the outdoor fan/ entire top off the unit to mount the fan. My basement exhaust fan, I actually converted to a 120V motor. But I got lucky. Many of those setups use a lower RPM motor for noise abatement, so you must pay attention to motor RPM. For 'xample, say it's a 1/3 hp. But A 1/3HP EG say, 900 RPM motor, those fan blades will overload a 1/3HP that runs at higher RPM

For a damper/ door, that could be simple......a simple hinged door with a hand actuator rod that you can raise and lower, etc.

Long as it's single phase, I can wire it. But my fabrication skills are lacking. lol

If you've got a Home Depot or Lowes nearby, they usually have gable vent fans back by where the shingles and stuff are. I got mine there years ago when I built my shop. I think it was like $90 or so. It has a thermostatic relay to cut it on/off at whatever temp you set it to. Wasn't too hard to install.

I'm putting solar vent fans in my shop.

I tested one last year and it made a difference I can feel.

Cost was $100 for the fan, a folding panel, and a cord that was about 25 feet long.
...but it's zero cost to run.

Mind you, it's only one 12" fan in a 880 sq ft shop area, but it lowers the 100 degree plus FL summer heat by at least 5 degrees.
It would probably do more if I could mount the panel (about 16"x24") so it could get full sun until sundown.
Right now it only gets full sun from sun up until about 4 pm, then partial sun.

It's worked so well, I ordered two more and will also be putting one or two in my house, to lower the attic temp that I've recorded as high as 127 degrees!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact same brand, and the two new ones came with the same fans and panels but only a 10 foot cord.

YES, I can feel the difference that one small fan makes in that fairly large shop area-
