I am looking for a source of just the rubber fabric used on exhaust hangers. I want to cut it to size and make my own. This is about 1/4" or thicker reinforced with string in the rubber. My 1973 Dart has the quiet car package. The exhaust hanger has two of these straps, one on each side of the pipe. One of them broke.

Stop by any quarry or factory and ask for a small piece of old conveyor belt, that stuff is tough.

That is exactly what I need but it is expensive. In this case I think cutting up an old tire would be more practical.How about this?
