Anyone had/have this issue. I am running a 360 mostly stock with 20w50 oil I have excellent pressure at start up, around 60-65 psi. Once I start cruising around and the car warms up it stays around 40-45psi. Problem occurs when I stop at a stop light, oil pressure drops to 10 or sometimes below. I normally put the car in neutral if I get stopped at a light and the pressure will stay around 15-20. Any ideas?

stock 360? how many miles? original pump? how low does it idle in gear?

mine runs around there also.. all stock 50,000 mile 74 360.. i'm not really worried about it . :)

With 20w50 oil in it if it drops that low, I would consider rebuilding it.
20w50 should give a lot better pressure at idle.

I bet if you put something like 10w30, or 40 in it, the pressure would drop to nothing idling in gear, right?

That being the case the clearances are getting up there and it's time to tear her down and do a rebuild before you scratch things up.

Same here 69 Dart...360. Using Valvoline VR1 oil.
Occ drops to 15-20 @ stop light and I just usually drop it in neutral.
Does stay @ 40 @ times so Im not worryin too much at this point. I do have my car idled fairly low as well which may be affecting?

My fresh 360 is 60 cold and moving down the road. 40 at idle using VR1 20w 50. just used a HV pump with the rebuild. mine idles at 1100rpm

Thanks for the ideas. Wish I would have had a crystal ball before I put the motor in. Oh well, guess thats why there is winter and the car just sits in the garage.......excuse to go work on it.

Thanks again.
