Dear Slant Six Community,
I just received a call from Alanna Hargis (Rodney's wife). Diane Hargis, mother of Rodney Hargis and wife of Jerry Hargis, died of a heart attack this morning. We all knew Diane has such a warm person and a great supporter of our racers and the whole Slanted Family. Many of us got to see her at Knoxville Dragway in July for Meril's 90th birthday party and race, and it was very special to see her and the many who gathered. Please feel free to notify anyone who is not on this website. Rodney is hanging in there, but I'm sure this was a shock to him and many others.
Arrangements for services have not been made yet, and I will post those when I know them. I imagine Rodney will appreciate calls and cards, but maybe wait a few days to let things settle.
