Will going to the 2.74 gear set make the rear gears act 12% lower than they are? And will this help at launch?

It will, but it will be nominal. Every little bit helps when racing.

The reason I ask is that I am running 3.23 in my 8.75, 904 with low gear set, gv unit and a turbo action 3200 stall.
My cam is a 237/242 , 108 cl hughes in a 416 w eddy heads. This motor was dynoed at 540 tq at 4400, and 540 hp at 5200. I am looking to see if it would be better to use 3.55 or 3.73 and still go down the hiway at 75.
