Just bought a nice 70 Duster all original so I’m upgrading the front brakes to discs and rebuilding steering and suspension. Thought I’d share my control arm mod. Didn’t want to spend 40 bucks so I made my own plates out of 14 gauge steel that I had laying around.

Looks good, I'm currently doing the same on my lower control arms. 65'

Too much trouble to make something fancy that will never be seen. A few little pieces of flat bar across will accomplish the same thing. One could even fold a 1/4" over the edges for more weld area. Aftermarket couldn't sell those though.

It really wasnt hard to do. Took a couple minutes to cut out but I have tools. If you dont have tools or time then i guess you can half *** it like you said.
