Have a 69 barracuda originally a 318 car. Now has a 440 installed. Going to purchase a new m&h engine/forward light harness and want to verify all the differences between a small block/big block harness. Only thing i can think of the distributor and the temp sensor wiring being different lengths? Are all the body mounted components in the same locations? The Big block harness is $ 100 more than a small block harness which makes me think it is very different - thank you!

Get your engine harness from Evans:

Note that he doesn't list all the part # on his website, but it's the same price for the engine harness, big or small block.

As far as your question, you are probably correct. The ballast resistor and horn relay are in the same places on the car, and the actual difference in materials between the two is likely minimal.

Some items you may have to address when you order.

1. Electronic ignition

2. electric choke

3. electronic or original voltage regulator

4. hood mounted turn signals

5. Factory tachometer

Pro tip, the slant six wiring it the same as big block. Evans is my choice after doing a couple of them. It is the distributor and temp sensor that is MUCH longer on a big block...
