Machine shop woes

There is always the alternative... forget about having everthing "perfect" and do it the way millions did it in the past....yourself!

I will be doing most of it myself. He's doing the stuff I don't have the equipment for.

his grinder got COVID?

Well, that was the funny thing, he "sent the cranks out" to be ground. Don't get me wrong the crank looks good. i haven't checked it yet, as a matter of fact i want to do that soon, mic it etc. and get it in the block. anyway they were trucked two hours away and they guy doing them was slow and backlogged I guess. since i am not in a hurry, I was patient however, what if I was in a hurry or it was a customers engine and they are in a hurry...? strange times indeed...even in the old days it may have been a week or ten day wait, but the machine shop I dealt with had all the machines there on their premises.
