Mad electric alt. Bypass questions

I am getting ready to do this with a new dash in my 1967 Barracuda fastback 4speed 273,
the P.O. put a HEI distributor in it along with a 1 wire alternator should I do anything different?

Well in regards to what? So far as an HEI you need to bypass the ignition resistor. One way to do that is to connect everything at the resistor together, then take the old coil + wire and use that to feed power to the HEI
