I had this all figured out but haven't thought about it for awhile.
..how do the 318 and 360 magnum heads differ..or do they?
..what's required to use these on an early LA engine?
..tx guys.

...I don't believe there are any differences between the two. They both have the same chambers, same valve sizes, ports, bolt patterns, rocker gear, etc...

magnumswap.com is a great source for the info, but in a nutshell, you need the heads, magnum head bolts, oil through lifters, corrected length pushrods to compensate for the different rockers, correct gaskets, magnum intake, valve covers (although you can use LA covers with good gaskets).

I think it's LX guy that did a really good thread on this...you run a search yet?

tx ..TX.
i have since done some searches because i have access to a set of magnums.
..looks like a worthwhile swap!

These are not Magnum, but they are different for an LA block, and bolt up to stock intakes.

"302" 318 heads are quench closed chambered.
"308" 360 heads are open.
