Ok heres the question im going to be using custom AM gauges from equus on my dart i was wondering is it possible to put a lil buld and wire it to the 3 3/8 tach to turn green when its time to shift? like how would i be able to measure the rpms at the correct range for it to light up?

Bump for more info. I couldn't get the pic in crackedback's link to come up.

Linky worked great for me! Thanks crackedback...another fun project that costs almost nothing!

mopardart72,

I think SummitRacing.com sells rpm switches. I don't remember if they are adjustable or not. Check 'em out.

I want to do this also but i want to have my dash e brake light flash. kinda stealthy shift light.

The pills are nothing but a resistor.

You can build a trigger set up for under $10 and have it adjustable to wherever you want it to come one.

Nice stealth location Daredevil. That's what makes this stuff cool. Like all the nitrous activation switches in my car before timers/controllers. There were 3 of them and you wouldn't have been able to tell by looking in the car.

Hey guys, that website is mine. Sorry to those that had a hard time accessing the file, you can download it directly here http://www.sstang.com/techfiles/nino_ajustable_rpm_module.pdf.

These rpm switches are pretty simple devices like cracked said it's just a resistor to indicate what rpm to activate, I have a document on modifying msd pills as well - http://www.sstang.com/View.aspx?file=pill_rework.pdf or direct download http://www.sstang.com/techfiles/pill_rework.pdf.

I have made the nino rpm module and it does work but it's not very durable and it's very sensitive. I ended up doing the pill modify trick instead, much more reliable if you don't have the pills you need.
