Manual says to use drill bits as gauge but numbers?

My local princess auto (like harbor freight) carries a cheapo set of fractional, number and letter drills. Not great quality but affordable and all you need for what you are doing. The snap on trucks also carry number drills and will sell you individual ones.

If you know any aircraft mechanics most of them will have a full set of number drills.

As stated above, they are a must have for fine tuning carbs, drilling jets, and any kind of machine work including tapping holes.
 
OK OK, I'm not here to argue. Sure there are places where dimensions are critical.
To the original subject of this thread, ( and someone else already said this ) a few thousands wont matter. Unsubscribed
