Does anyone know what the ‘65 Dart Charger convertible with the striped upholstery sold for? It’s been for sale on various sites for a long time.Just curious.

$27,500. I thought that was strong money since it had been modified with maybe questionable taste.

That is one ugly orange truck. Someone ruined that thing.

Thanks. I’ve seen it advertised near $50k. You’re correct about the questionable mods, for sure. There have been numerous articles about this car in print and online.

I bailed on a nice ‘65 Charger coupe that was “rust free” when I found serious rust issues in a couple of places. It was $22k and I had sent a deposit and flown across the US with the balance in a cashier’s check, only to be really disappointed. There just isn’t the market for these cars that there is for the later A-bodies, and that’s a shame, because they cost just as much, if not more, to restore. I’m writing the money I’m spending on my coupe and convertible off to the fact that it’s my hobby, I want to duplicate my high school car, and I can afford to do it. Paying someone to do it would be a real waste of money, rather than a moderate one. One of the ways I justify doing it is to take the money I would have paid for restoration to buy tools to do it, like a lift, rotisserie, blaster, etc,.

It was also a challenge to myself to see if I could do it. Hopefully, I’ll get the cars done before I’m too old to drive.

The 340 swap was probably ok, maybe even the interior, but the hood scoops & the spoiler really ruined it for me.
