Does any one know what was the original metal coating on the hood safety latch. Mine is silver almost gav colored but when I removed it the bottom was a gold gav color.

The hood latch "u" type shaped piece should be like the latch.

What is the gold anodized actually called?
Anyone know where to get them done?
The hood is at the body shop today and I fugure what better time to get them re coated.
Thanks,
Joe

Here are the hood parts I was talking about?
Looking to get them refinished the correct way. Car is silver so if the color is gal. Then it will just blend in. If yellow anodized then it will stand out. Also any help in proper color names (if I am calling it wrong process) that helps too.
Thanks,
Joe

Note sure what you are working on but, here's what I have for 69.

hood latch: grey brownish cad type plating with different component plated differently (washers, rivets...)
catch: brown dichromate zinc finish (grey brownish cad type plating) with rivet plated differently.
striker (on hood): body color along with bolts
spring: brown dichromate zinc
release handle: brown dichromate zinc
release handle large pivot bolt (67-69 Barracuda only part): silver cad
rods: brown dichromate zinc

Sign up for Caswell's mailing list. They have sales a few times a year, and the plating kits are always included. Through the years I've seen anywhere from 5%-20% off.
