Hi,
I am looking for new tires for my 71 dart.
Just finished the spring relocation, mini-tub and the rearend is shortened.
I am going to be running 15"x7" front rim and 15"x10" rear.

I really like the looks of the Sportsman S/R's but it sounds like getting front tires may be an issue. I can get the 26"x8"x15" fronts but they don't plan on re-running them for a while, in case something happens and I need to replace one.
The rears are going to be 28"x12"x15", they seem to have lots of them so no issues there.

What tires are you all running and are you happy with them?
Car is 99% street car.
440 - 4 speed.

Thanks,

The 26x8's are pretty wide on the front. I'm running the 26x8's on front and 28x12x15's on the rear of my Demon. You really will have to be very careful on the rim offset and I'm still not sure the 8" wide front will clear the front fender lip. I don't remember the specs on my wheels off the top of my head. I haven't got the car on the road

"Edit, I just verified I do have the 26x8's on the front sorry"

I built the rearend to 53" flange to flange and for this car, that will let me use a 5" offset or neutral rim on the rear. With the 28"x12"x15" rear tire, I will have 1" clearance to the outside fender lip as it is curled and welded and leaves me 1 1/2" clearance to the inner fender. I mocked the rearend up before shortening with a 275x60x15 set of BFG's on 15"x10" 5" offset rims.

As for the front, the tire on there now is 205-70-14 on a 14"x7" rim. The 26"x8"x15" tire is only 1/2" taller, it's actually a tiny bit narrower on tread and sidewall. When I measure the front tire now, I still have just under 2" clearance to the front fender.

Thanks for the heads up though.

I run 28x12.50 MT sportsman pros in the rear, 26x7.50's in the front.

I'm a big fan of MT's tires and they look nice. I can't speak to the traction the SR's offer. I'm sure there is plenty of stock on hand if you needed a front tire. Summit racing etc. Worst case scenario you just get another brand front. They are black walls anyway so it really shouldn't be that noticeable.

26x8's aren't wide. Here are 7.50's.

That's a sweet looking ride you have there.

I like the rims on the last 3 photos! What are they? Well you can't see them in the 3rd photo but they are different then the 1st.
I am still thinking of going with the Ralley wheel. I have a hard time picking something different.
Thanks,

Hey Trebliq
Now wheel rubbing there I am sure!!!
The tires look great on there. Are they fairly descent traction/noise/wear wise???
Any chance you have got stuck in the rain too? Was wondering what they are like in the wet?
Because they are a direction tire how are they for stopping power too?
Thanks,

No, there's no wheel rub at all. I did put a 1/4" spacer in front of the forward spring hanger to center the tires in the wheel well, other than that they run on the street great!! They grip real nice...they are not sticky or too hard. They seem to grip just right!! They stop super good, I'm very happy with them and I would buy another set if I needed to. I love they way they look and I like the old school "vibe". I can't drive anywhere without compliments and "thumbs up" and lots of cell phone pics on the highway and in town. I know that some FABO members like to slam their cars to the ground and I guess that's OK if that's what you like but I like working on my my car and it's just too difficult to work on a car that's sitting on the ground. I even went through all the trouble of buying some "old school" stickers like we used to do back "in the day"!!!! Anyway, thanks for the compliments and good luck with your ride!!!

The rims in the last 3 photos are Weld RTS-71 wheels. They are the wheels I purchased after doing my spring relocation. They are 15x11.275" in the rear and 15x4 in the front.
