Hi all, looking to buy a Mighty-Vac for home use. There are plastic models and metal models. Is one better than the other? Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated. :thankyou:

I have a plastic one, love it, Don't let fluid get in the pump under any circumstances, clean well if you do .
Put Teflon tape on bleeder threads to prevent air sucking past the threads.
Leave bleeder closed, pump 15 - 20*, open bleeder, close at 5ish, repeat , repeat . . .
Good luck .

I’ve had the metal one for over 25 years with no issues. I was going to replace it because that diaphragm is going to break eventually. Did not know metal was even available any longer. I will ask the snap on guy next week when he comes to my shop.
My understanding was the metal could be rebuilt. Plastic not so much.
Sorry for the long wind.
Yes I recommend one for a home or shop.

I had one for decades (plastic) until it finally didnt work anymore. A very good addition to any toolbox
