Just took my car on the road for the first ride of the season... Ran good for a mile or 2 then started missing and stumbling on idle.

It was run every few weeks over the winter with no missing issues at all

Edelbrock carb, 318. I can turn the left side idle screw in all the way and it will not drop the idle rpm

I also took some temperature readings at the headers. on the passenger side of the bank 1 cylinder(front) is running at about 195 degrees while the other three on that side 440 or more

One the left side middle 2 cylinders about 220, while outer 2 cylinders r 450 plus.

Plug wires are new last fall.. they are sending spark to the cool cylinders.

I am thinking either gunk in the carb or 3 bad spark plugs??

Help anyone? Thanks

A non functioning idle screw is ALWAYS an indicator. Either you have gunk in the carb idle circuit, or a vacuum leak, my guess would be the first.

Thanks 67dart That was my first guess. Will disassemble and clean tomorrow then recheck.

Could idle circuit gunk impact certain cylinder header temps?

Found the problem.. small peice of something ?? blocking one of the small tubes at the base on the primary venturi pick up( not sure if I called it the right part)

Cleaned everything out, reassembled and all is once again good in the world!!
