Modern Disc Brake Conversions?

Has anybody tried swapping any type of common newer spindles and disc brakes on to a factory A body suspension setup? I did a search on the site and came up empty handed.

I was thinking about looking into using 90's-00'ish 2wd S-10 or Dakota parts? All the hoarders in the area won't let anything original go for anything under a fortune.

Any input would be appreciated.

Sounds like you found a suitable donor for parts. To answer your original question: Yes, kinda. This what you describe is similar to the Scarebird disc brake upgrade kits.
