hey I'm about to build a dodge 408 small block stroker. When I put together the connecting rods and the pistons I noticed this
Does anyone know why the new rod caps Do not Have oil grooves?
will the cylinders have enough oil then? :-s
Original vs. scat

The rods journals get oiled through the crankshaft and that hole is pointless.
The cyclinders get oiled with what flies out of the sides of the bearing.
I could be mistaken.
Might wait for other to reply just in case.

You don't need the grooves. Those look like scat I-beam rods , make sure you get the rod bearing shells in the right location (marked upper and lower) and the rods installed with the rod chamfer toward the crank radius.
