Mopar ignition module problem

So I though I had a ballast resistor problem. Test the resistor on one pole it was good. Other was open. This is a 74 dart . Replace resistor still no spark. Bought a "4" pin cheap azz control module and what do you know bam it runs great ! So can an icm cause a ballast resistor to fail?

I would guess so, but almost all ECUs nowadays can use a 2 terminal ballast. Look up a diagram and ohm out the old ECU. Is the "5th" pin connected to anything?

Prob if it shorted internally it will blow the resistor.

Be sure the ignition module is grounded really well. If not no sparky sparky.
