anyone see the april o9 issue on the engine challenge? JD E&M built one killer motor. indy beat them out and not by much but JD had only one carb. i`m no authority on engine building but it didn`t seem right to me when you compare the two setups.
anyhow, i was amazed by the size of the oil filter on the JD engine. where do you find a filter that size how does it apply? any ideas, please and thanks.

I didn't see it yet, but if the oil filter is big, I'd guess a race unit is employed for the task. Is it the Fram HP series filter?

Also, on the carb issue, the rules didn't limit the amount of carbs now did it?
I'd rather it simple and simple is one carb.

if you compare the two engines by what was used there, you`d think the the JD block was laying it down, big time. what if indy used a single 4.
i heard mention about the pure power oil filter. it`s supposed to be the way to go. life time job with less restriction which allows easy horse power. cost is $200. but it`s cleanable and lasts forever. check out the website--

I can buy about 50-60 wix filters for the price of that one

Interesting, but, no thanks on spending 2 bills on a filter.
