Came across this pan on a trad. It measures 4.75" deep. I searched the part number but can't find any details. I'm assuming it's an A500 pan but the catalog that I have lists a different part number (see pic). Usually mopar will put part# replaced by part# but I am unable to find it in this case. Can anyone provide any details? It also came with this long filter extension that I'm assuming is needed if used with a 904. Thanks!!

Deep 904 pan? bolt pattern on perimeter is the same, correct? If it was originally for an A500 it wouldn't need the spacer to drop the filter down as the filter on an A500 is already down there. doesn't mean it wouldn't fit an A500 - only one way to check...

In an A-body that pan would be a nightmare. The stock pan on my A500 already hangs below everything else and I had to put a 4WD pan skid on it to keep out of trouble.

Maybe for a truck with lots of clearance?

Part number and casting number are usually not the same. Even in the aftermarket (mopar perf)

A500 pans fit 904's I put a deeper one on my Swinger just for fun. The drain plug is handy when you need it.

Thanks everyone for the replies. The long filter extension is for use on the 904. If I were to use this on the A500 do I need a regular aluminum filter extension to compensate for the 2 extra quarts? Or just run it with the filter bolted to the valve body?

Does anybody Know how deep that factory pan is? (Mine is hibernating on the other side of the country) That would tell if there is room to extend the filter, or if it is even needed. The filter is right close to the bottom of the stock pan when installed

The stock pan is shallow. I got the kit with the filter extension but it's not really needed for a mild street application. . The stock filter location screwed onto the valve body is submerged in the same amount of fluid as with a stock pan. In other words, the "full level" is the same whether there is an inch or 3 inches of fluid.

Please take a look at the stock pan and valve body pictures above...

If the filter has an extension it isn't a stock pan. Stock pans use the filter screwed directly to the valve body. Dimensions on the stock pan depth I don't have. Does that answer your question.
