By the shores of Gichi Gami or as Longfellow miswrote in his poem Gitchi Gummi. (Big Water)

Here are a few of the pictures I took as the sun came up one morning this week.

Thanks for the great pics. I've been by several of the Great Lakes and, being a native Southern Californian, it continues to amaze me that you can't see the other side of a lake. The ocean yes, I'm used to that, but not being able to see across a lake is just foreign to my brain.

Looks beautiful.
In my area (Mid-Georgia) we don't get much for fall colors. What we do get, though, is some wonderful fragrance. Right now the eleagnus and tea olives are in bloom. Impossible to describe, but absolutely great!

Thanks everyone!
Fall is my favorite time of year. Not too hot, the colors, the smell of the leave, and the air smells so much fresher after a light rain.

We had some high winds some most of the leaves have blow down. Some of the more tough ones like the oaks with their brown an rust color are still hanging in there though.

Here on the north shore of Lake Superior we have a more rocky shoreline as you can tell by the pictures.

Everyone's area has it's on beauty which sometimes we take for granted.

Show us some pictures of your area. Lakes, mountains, deserts, rivers, or even
fancy old buildings, etc.

Fantastic pics!! Thanks for sharing them with us!! I get to head out to the "big water" (Lake Huron), at least once a year for some great fishing experiences (Bass, Walleye, Perch, Salmon, Lake Trout). There is no better place to fish in the world than the Great Lakes!!

Here's a few pics from a recent fishing trip to Lake Huron. To me there is nothing more beautiful than the sunrise/sunsets on the "big waters". Nature sure has a way of taking our breath away with her timeless beauty!!

Great pic's norshorblufish! Me and the wife were up in your neck of the woods a week or so ago. We drove up to Grand Marais to check out the colors, very nice drive.
