Moulding Question

I can't seem to find a pattern on cars that have moudling and cars that don't. Specifically 67-69, was it just a factory extra you could order?

i think so. my 67 valiant 100 (base model) had body side moulding that i'm having a hellofatime finding replacements for. one piece was flat-sided.
yet i've seen signets (high end model) without side trim at all, only pillar post mouldings and some trunk moulding.

Many of them had dealer installed side mouldings.....especially the aluminum ones with the rubber insert. I've seen them both riveted on and screwed on. The factory ones usually had clips.
