When I was a fair bit younger, the old "hose clamp on the steering column" secured my Sun Supertach II

Edited to add: In my '72 Dart, I have this setup:
BCE-Body Hemi Installation
(no idea why the link says that!)

It’s tough to mount it this way with an automatic shifter on the column.

True... but since I got rid of the 318/auto and replaced it with a 383/4-speed, it worked for me!
