Swapping my 74 from column shift to console. I've got a factory console and I've got new brackets from yearone. But what attaches the console to the brackets?? Does it mount with screws, bolts, clips, ect? The inside of the rear part of the console has indentions for some pretty big washers, but the brackets only have narrow slots. The car never had a console before, and I'm having trouble finding pics or info of how it attaches.

Lag thread screws, like sheet metal screws. If the brackets aren't positioned close enough to where they should be, those screws will find the slots and move the console. Conflict at the automatic shifter blind can result. The console brackets that I produced didn't include those slots. Drill point screws were included.

Thanks, RedFish. Wish I'd have known that....amd brackets aren't cheap. Running a hurst cable shifter, so leaving middle bracket out, or modifying it for the shifter. Hopefully I'll get everything where it needs to be.
