any body using the 280/474 cam in a small block?im working on a 10:1 340 in a dart with 2200 stall .and 390 gears.i cant decide between the mp cam and a schnieder .this is a street car,and not a daily driver.schnieder cam specs:280/90 220/30 @50, 450 460 lift.108 lsa.

Between those two choices, the MP cam might be a bit better for the upper end, but, may suffer a bit without more stall as compared to the Schnieder.

I have the next cam up in the schnieder ranks 230/.480 on a 110 LSA for sale if you are looking for one. They are really good grinds in that range for a strong street SB car. Also have a complete Comp XE262H kit for sale.

I have it in my 360 - 9.4:1 3.23's and 3800 stall dynamic converter - I had a mopar 2500 and it was ok - just not quite at the powerband like the 3800 has it at.

Idels at 900 in grear and it runs 12.56 in the quarter - 13.2 with a single 4 bbl

had that mp cam in a 318 years ago. ran good. its a 40 years design though. there are better choices out there.

what about some of the comp extreme energy cams out there, the voodoo cams. did you check those out?

Had that same cam in a mild 360, nice idle and power. Switched to the "new" comp xtreme energy 274-491, 2nd biggest hydraulic. Much to my dismay the car ran the same at the track.. So much for new tech????? Had alot of problems with lifters...finally went back to "old" school mp solid cam..
