Must be something in the air! I see light at the end of the tunnel on a career change here as well. Can't wait to leave this incredibly thankless profession behind. As IQ52 said--you pour yourself into every build only to hear the crying about the expense, or complaints in general. I was talking with a buddy of mine about this last week, we agreed that this is a great hobby but a terrible job. I hope to bring some or all of my equipment home and become uber selective about what I take on in the future , engine building will remain a love and a hobby to be enjoyed when I choose. It also doesn't hurt to move to a career that is a jump in pay with incredible benefits/pension package and also know that I can retire when the time comes. Kudos to you Mike! Probably kick myself for not doing this 10+ years ago. J.Rob

I'll tell you what J.Rob, I sure am glad you shared all those engine builds here with us. Whether it was a crazy high hp stroker, or a poor man's 360, you always shared honest results and gave great input. Hard to find an engine builder that throws all of his findings out there, whether they're good findings or bad.

Much respect to you for what you've done for the community. This decision had to have been tough, but it sounds like you've got a good deal going. Best of luck with your new endeavors, and I look forward to seeing new "hobby" engine build threads from you in the future.

Cheers and beers!

I stopped in at the one of the local machine shops here in Winnipeg last week to pick up a MSD box that I ordered through them.. asked how they are doing and said it was super busy. Nice mix of farm equipment , heavy machinery and performance engines.
They don't do a lot of mopar stuff so he probably will stay sane longer....
