I had a MSD 6AL ignition box that died, I bought a 6AL-2 with dual rev control.
My question is this, if I set the rev limit at lets say 6000rpms, will the engine rev normally to that 6000rpms and then just flatten, or does the limiter roll into that 6000rpms say starting around lets say 5700?
I'm just trying to understand how they work and where I would have to set the rev limiter in relationship to my shift light.

It will flatten wherever you set it, not earlier.

Just to do yourself a fun test, set it at the lowest cut off and rev the engine up just to see how it works before you set it at your desired race shift point.

it,ll drop cylinder spark intermittent so it wont rev past where its set. thats why they call it soft touch.it drops cylinders here and there.
