I bought a clean pair of MT valve covers. 0 holes in them for the breather or pcv. My question is, what is the proper grommet size for them? I've been reading conflicting things and I just don't want to mess them up.

Ran into this same issue, figured it out finally. Here is the part number. It’s a Mopar number for a moroso push in breather.

If they currently have no holes in them at all , obviously you can cut the holes out any size you need.
The reason I mentioned the 1.25 inch hole is because that seems to be the most common size I have seen, as I have actually been looking at new valve covers and am finding most come with that size holes that I have looked at.
This is the moroso push in breather that comes with grommet
Moroso 68781 Moroso One-Piece Push-In Valve Cover Breathers | Summit Racing

And I you are using the push in breathers for a moroso pan evac deal, they are used with 1.25 holes too( actually 1.22)

K&N and other push in type breathers also use a 1.25 hole as well, like these, for example
K&N 62-1490 K&N Crankcase Vent Filters | Summit Racing

But you can put holes in them any size you want as long as you can use the holes you made…lol
But 1.25 is by far the most common size and gives you the most options as far as breathers, etc. I have been looking at enough of them the last couple of weeks to know
