Ok, i figured that now I have been working on my 72 Swinger a year I will start my thread. I have done more to the car then these pics show, it will just take me a few days to catch up to how the car is now. I am not doing a restore just a lotta work to it, (nothing compared to some of you guys). This first post will show what I started with and then go from there, well I'll try. So, sit back, take a look and I hope you enjoy. Oh and thanks for looking all comments are welcomed.

Once you get started, it's tough not to do a complete rebuild. You will probably do more to it then you intend to. Looking forward to more pic's. Howard

Here is some shots of the floor pan that I done last summer. I am still trying to get caught up on the progress. This was the first time I ever tried welding. My son took class in high school and he taught me, kinda. For the rear pan I bought a replacement pan from auto body spec. But for the front I just cut up the hood from my parts car 74 Dart.

pieces of a hood? well if the gauge is strong enough, you aren't going for a concourse resto.....who cares? it gets covered by carpet anyway. looks good to me. keep us updated with pics.

Ok heres a little more. These pics were taken last summer when I was striping the car. There was left rear damage from a wreck. It was caked with BONDO, some 3/4 inch thick. I cut a 1/4 panel off my parts car to fix the top near the trunk. But the lower still will need to be replaced. The drivers side was also damaged in a wreck. Bondo not as thick but more then i want. i will rent a stud welder to pull out the dent then use Rage filler. MOre to follow.....

Hey Adam. Well the finder tag and the VIN say its a 72. With it being apart like it is why do you think its a 71?

The grill is a 71 piece and it looks like the marker lights are also 71s.

Huh well it looks great anyways nice job Justin

Hey All. Just an update on my car. Long story short it is a 71 Swinger.

I will also post this in the brake section later.
Now after a few months saving money, a few weeks of searching parts and a few days of work, I finally got the brake swap done. Here are a few pics. Next for the Swinger will be to get the belly of the car done. More to follow. Please enjoy the pics.

After looking over my thread i realize I have not posted pics of the engine bay. I will get them up soon. Thanks for looking.

Well, I guess its time to call this the end of the car. This was my first attempt at "fixing" up an A-body. I have learned a lot here on FABO and many thanks to you all. But since I have learned so much I have found problems with my car. First of all, I was told it was a 72. Now after a few month, lots of phone calls, come to find out the car is a 71. A P.O had switched the VIN plates from another car. After much research I have found out it is going to be a PITA to get a correct title for the car. So after all the work I have put into her I am giving up on it.
Oh please, don't feel bad for me or the car. I have put a lot of time and money for parts in it but not all is lost. See after I figured out I can't "use" it I found me another one. This time I knew what I was looking for and at. I have the title this time, not just bill of sale. SO anyway. I will again, strip this 71 from all the parts I have put on it and transfer them to my "new" 71 Dart Custom. So now I will just have to start my new tread. I just wanna thank all you for the help and help my understanding the whole A-body thang.
I have already started some tread with the new Dart so keep an eye out for them and leave comments there. So till next tread, LATER.
