I was finally able to get most of my pictures transfered. I bought this 67 dart for 750$. I work on it when i have time and the budget allows, my 8 year old has helped me with some sanding/blocking and some dolly work. Here are some pics of around when i bought it. Ill try to organize them as progress went, and up to where im at now. Ill add more as i find them. :thumleft:

Those 8 year olds can do nice work! I hear they still work pretty cheap at that age, but by 12 they can be a little demanding!
 
Thanks guys, yeah the 8 year olds seem to have vision too.. "someday this car might be mine right dad?" hehe

Hell of a welder you are....Those welds are beautiful......I am happy when my welds are half as nice as yours...But I'm getting better....Practice makes perfect....,
 
My 67 dart definately started out as a beater, i dont call it that out of lack of appreciation for it though, it is definately a labor of love. Its more of an inside joke, i had a few friends say "nice beater" after i purchased it, none of them know mopars and after a little blood sweat and tears they are all a bit in awe over the transformation so far. Ive been working on it for going on three years now on a limited budget.
 
I started out wanting to put a big block rb motor in it, the 440's are cool but i weighed the pros and cons, more room for everything so i chose the 400, and it is 70 ish lbs lighter than a 440. I have the big block conversion done, did a mock up with motor and trans, everything fit real nice. I have weld in subframe connectors in it. These are cut and coped to follow the floor contours. The plan is to get it painted and driving this year, i have a running stock 400 im going to throw a gasket kit, cam/lifters, timing chain, oil pump etc. I have the schumacher ceramic headers, so the plan for cam break in is a set of zoomies! Cant wait haha. I have a freshly rebuilt 727 and a factory high stall converter for now, i will do a 3000 stall with the stroker.Next year i will begin to round up parts for a 470 stroker. This will be a mostly street driven car, trailered(due to the 3.91's) to the strip once in a while when the bugs are worked out. Two tracks here one is 200 miles away the other is 35.

When i cut the wheelwells out in front of the tire i marked it out several times. I just didnt think it looked right without changing the radius a bit. I wanted it to blend better, in the process i changed the wheel opening shape a bit, purists will notice for sure. I like the way it came out, it just works.

Thanks guys, this is the first car ive done for myself. I did a lot of resto's etc when i was in the autobody trade, it always bugged me after i changed careers that i never did one for myself. As you all have heard before im sure, this was going to be a quick rust repair/paint and get it on the road. It snowballed from there, i just couldnt do it fast and right, from there the project took on a direction of its own.
 
I have never done this before, i gave it a shot and it really wasnt too hard. I have all the front lines done, just waiting on a rear brake hose then i can finish up the lines.
