In 1980 my brother bought his first car. A 1976 Plymouth Space Duster. It was a really nice car. Very nice condition, like brand new. I have never seen another one like it.
It was the very common tan color Dusters came in at the time. This one was a space duster with the fold down rear seat. It had black bucket seats and a black vinyl top with the factory sunroof. It also had a black and orange stripe which is the only one like it I have seen. It was the slant six.
He took great care of it. Up and into the 90s he had some rust in the lower fenders and quarters repaired. He was going to have this painted.
He was shopping at the local Hecks store one day and was walking out when he heard the store had been robbed. As he walked out he saw the folks that robbed the store flying around the parking lot in a pickup truck in a panic trying to get away. He watched them drive right over the front of his 76 Duster.
So he gets the damage from all this repaired. Replaced the fender and hood etc. Ready to get the car painted and a lady pulls out and side wipes him. At this point he gives up on it. Just too much time and money and bad luck. The damage was more than he cared to take on.

It is hard to tell but she smacked him pretty hard. It tweaked it all at the frame too. Pillar behind the door, hood, trunk and all tweaked.
