Hello everyone, my name is Russell. I've been reading these forums for a while now and I've even asked a few questions. I am finally getting around to posting some pictures of my Dart, at least it will be mine when I pay my brother-in-law for it.
It's a 74 Dart Sport, it has a 318 with a mild cam (not sure what cam exactly), MSD ignition, a Weiand intake and I'm not sure what else.
It's gonna be my daily driver.
When I went to look at it at my brother-in-laws, the hood scoop was
coming loose about six inches from the rear on each side where it was
fiberglassed on. When they drove it to the house the hood scoop ended
up separating completely down one side.
Not being able to afford getting the hood repainted at this time, I
took the hood scoop off, bought some dyna-weld and some flexible
primer, taped it off, glued it down, sanded it by hand, primed it,
then covered the area with trim tape until I can get a vinyl stripe
made.
I've also had to change a bent driveshaft, I added chip from radio
shack to the back of the instrument cluster to replace the burnt out
regulator, and my son and I added shackles to the leaf springs to keep
the rear tires from scrubbing until I can get a new set of springs,
and modified the steering wheel hub so the turn signals would cancel.
There is still a lot to be done, repaint the front grill, new shocks
and springs, headliner, new bushings, have the bumpers re-chromed,
repair the seats/covers, new windshield, etc., but at least it's drivable now.
