My sister in laws oldest son was going through some old papers when doing some cleaning at his mom’s house that was the house of my in laws. He found these news paper clippings about my wife’s dad. My wife said she had never heard these stories.
I’ve mentioned before he was in the army air corp during ww2. His name Robert W. Redfield.
The one clipping was when he was in ww2 the other is later in his career. Thought they are pretty interesting.

It sounds like he was a great man.
My dad was in WW2, but he was in the Canadian Army and fought on D-Day.

I respect all military personnel. I think that they deserve better treatment than what they get. I've thanked them for their service and not even know them. For the people who have served and are serving and are reading this, I thank you for your service. Freedom isn't free.

^^^^^^Another classmate of mine passes, class of '66. He fought the effects of Agent Orange all his life.
MY wife's first husband passed from its effects at age of 39 leaving a 10 year old son.
I agree freedom is not free.
