I've got "My car tools" (Imperial/SAE), "Working on somebody else's POS tools" (Metric), and "Ohmygawd why did I buy anything British" tools (Whitworth). Let's just say the Whitworth toolbox has cobwebs on it now...
Thankfully my SAE hammer works just as well on metric stuff.

So, I hafta ask our metric members, when you're working on your car, what ratchet do you put your 10mm socket on? Hopefully not a 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" drive ratchet! It's things like this that keep me up at night thinking.

My point being, if a country has always used the metric system why aren't they using a 6.35, 9.53, or 12.7mm drive? (1/4", 3/8",1/2" converted to metric for those that don't live in a metric world) So, someone at some point said "Be gone with all of this Imperial foolishness, we will use the much easier metric system for our hardware. Now hand me that 3/8" drive!"

Remember when the Mars rover mission failed/crashed because some of the design team used metric and others used SAE measurements? Fun stuff! The US gave up on metrics because the government way underestimated the cost to retool all the manufacturing machines from SAE to metric and the cost was more than our industries could bear. I bid on a Corps of Engineers metric building design and gave up on it because none of our subcontractors could figure it out. Stud walls at 0.5 meters on center? Ceiling tiles at .33 M x 1.33 M? Sheetrock at 1.33 M x 3.1 M? You can’t buy this stuff in the USA, so we could never comply with the Buy American Act.

Have witnessed something like that before, like I said lumber in Canada is imperial because sawmills don’t want to cut two sizes of lumber one for export and one for domestic. Most blueprints here are metric. It’s funny to watch carpenters with an imperial tape measure and a metric conversion calculator. All masonry in Canada is metric super easy to lay out, gauge and most calculations can be done in your head. Concrete block 190X190X390 add 10mm for joint. No 1/8 ,1/4 how many times does 16” go into 36’. Sorry I’m sold on metric made my life a lot easier. Hell even your money is metric.

I have hearing loss as well, and constant tinnitus, so trust me, I do know what you are talking about, but the motorcycle didnt cause it.
There is always someone out there who will complain about the sound level of your bike, or muscle car, or stereo, one mans music is another mans noise.
I dont know what you have for exhaust on your car, but even if its semi loud great sounding exhaust, its a good bet that someone has shook their fist at you as you drove by them
But I will agree with you on one thing, some bikes are REALLY loud, but then again, so are some cars.

Do you wear hearing aids? It will help with tinnitus
