Got my building permit last week:cheers:

It will be 1248 Sq. Ft. and finished inside. R19 in the walls and R30 in the ceiling. Two 30,000 BTU hanging gas furnaces. Bathroom with hot and
cold water. 12 foot ceilings with a light grey tin roof. Two lifts (for storage) and finished floors (grey with flecks). 9' and 18' overhead doors with openers.

Heritage Cream (light yellow) vinyl siding to match the house and outside building. Now if the ground would dry up from all this rain we have been
getting they could bring in the backhole and get started.

There was a thread a while back discussing the cost of garages. I've
gotta tell you it ain't cheap. Before I'm finished I will have $50,000
in this thing, but it will be my dream garage that I've always wanted.

I can't wait till it's started and finished.

Here is a floor plan drawing:

New garage will be positioned between the outside building and the
house:

Thanks,
5 cars will go in the new garage which leaves me a space to "work in"

My attached garage will hold the 2 daily drivers for me and the wifey.

Wow that one would make Tim Allen (Tim the toolman Taylor) jealous!! Looks like you've got a nice big yard for it. Every guys dream, be sure to show it off with some pics as it goes up:cheers:

I wish you the best of luck in your build. I just built my dream car garage and it didn't go as well as I had hoped. But, once I get my car in there and torn down it will all be good!

Good Luck! If you have a builder ask a lot of questions and get it in writing.

Good morning Tony.
Gongrad's on the permit and getting a great shop.
I think your shop will work out very nice for you, you lucky dog.:-D
Will you be putting a floor drain in one of the stall's?
A guy here in Arkansas put a shower head out side his shop around back for
some dirty jobs, Dust, rust, and sweet. Sure felt good.
and I did not have to return home with all the blocking and paint dust all over me. I seen him giving his dog a shower there once and laughed about it and he said that his brother got hit with some hot antifreeze and new exactly
where to run.:blob:
Keep us updated on every move Tony:thumleft:

I'm jealous ...that setup would be about $200k in SoCal. If you could even find the land to do it. Good luck.

Congrats on getting a new building. I can tell you that no matter how big it is, it isn't big enough.

DAMHIK

Here is a pic as mine was going up

Looking good, god that yard is beautiful.....nice grass there and lots of space, it will look even better with the "guy garage" on it, good luck with the construction:happy10:

Update!

Work started at 08:00 a.m. today (Mon.) Got the backhole work done for
the foundation.

The first scoop of dirt is coming up:
"Big John" on the backhole has been doing this type of work for
35-40 years. The other guy is Harold.....he's 67 and has been doing this
most of his life.

These guys are friends and I grew up with them. I so glad they
are in the business they are in. I know I have nothing to worry about
as far as a quality build.

More to follow........

quick thought...one more door on the back side near the lifts or side between the two lifts...might lose wall space but will help with a breeze and access to items that are stored outside.

Nice...very nice...and VERY JEALOUS!!!

Very nice, let us know when it`s filled up. I couldn`t fit a car in my garage even if I turned it on it`s side.

Don´t forget to serve you friends cold beers:drinkers: And tell them that people from Sweden is watching thiers work lol!

Congrats! I wish my dad could start on our new garage. He already has it all planned out.
