so monday i worked out a deal to trade my non running (pbly just bad computer) '98 dodge 1500 5.9 4x4 ext cab for a '75 dodge power wagon 360 auto that runs good:) i have been drivin it since and wow its fun lol. i really do want some more power tho and overdrive. what trannys will fit in with out electronics and can still be shifted by my on the column console? i know it wont say the right thing on the console cuz there will be more gears but thats cool. but other then that i am in love:) o one thing i drove it in the heat of the day in slow traffic. not stop and go but we cruised under 30 for a mile or so and when i got to my girlfriends place she died lol the truck not my lady friend lol. poped the hood and fuel was boiling outta the carb coming down the choke. how do i fix this?? lol. i will drive it in those conditions and worse frequently and need it reliable. it is a stock style quad-r-jet or something but is 4brl on a eddy 2plany intake.

Nice truck. My dad had a 76 we put a flat bed on and used as a hay delivery truck for a number of years. I loved that old girl. Putting a spacer under the carb may help with the cab boiling over.

ya i love it:) will paint it this year in skool and hopefully but some bigger high lift springs under it so i can fit some bigger tires lol. i need tires and wanna get bigger not the same size. it has a lil spacer under the carb. maby just a think gasket i cant remember but it looked like a spacer. i have some room so might play with it. wont i get some torque from a spacer??? or should i just say so lol

i found an 84 3/4 ton truck. would that have overdrive?? and what tranny? and would the axels on it be much stronger? i might have access to a '06 cumming shell that i could rip axels off of but that would be more expensive so would this 84 be good? i really need overdrive lol

dodge trucks rule and that one its niice

put some 35"s on it

about the axles i think they are 8lug dana44 front dana60 rear wich would be the same as your dana44 chrysler 9.25 you have

if you want stronger axles search a pair of dana60s but for 35"-37 your axles are ok my brother runs it with 35" 4.56 gears and a 360 and never broke anything using it on rocks mud and sand :toothy10:

for a overdrive tranny search on ramchargers from 1991 up

hope that info helps you

lol my goal is 38"s if my girl dose not get to mad lol. the front diff makes a noise with the drive shaft in. even in 2wd. but with the shaft out (like it is now) its quiet. i found a whole truck 84 4x4 3/4 ton 318 2brl auto for $500. figured if it was even some better i would check it out if it would be od. i also found a 94 ram 1500 4x4 tranny auto for $200. but i dont wanna mess with computer crap. and i think they went to computers in '93. cant remember for sure. ya i love these trucks. i have had a 99 blazer s10 for a year. fun truck but i always was scared to do anything with it cuz its fragile. and it never did much that a truck should do. after havin this one just a week i am so happy:) the only real complaint is not havin od. i am used to cruising at 85-90 mph on the freeway. now this dosent like to get over 65 for long lol. thats gotta change. and i am talking myself into keepin it auto. i tend to hurt myself from time to time and wanna still be able to drive myself. and its easier to 4x4 with auto. i will keep my eye out for a 91+ ramcharger tranny. hey ramcharger do you know of one?? lol
