I did just what your thinking. I have a double din Pioneer NEX1400 with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I also added 2 cup holders and a center console box with lid.

Thank you. I'm trying to add some modern to the classic looks. Hoping not to go over board and keep the flavor of the build.

I think that you nailed it! I know that tastes vary and people do to their cars what they like and what their vision is. I'm not a fan of the modern retro looks like the tantrum charger and that sema duster. I like a day one look myself but that's just me. You have done a really nice job!! I like it.
