Hello, I bought my four door Valiant a few months ago. Last time on the road was in 1992....
We got it to start, and now after new brake lines, and wheel cylinders it barely stops. That was the first step, the second was to get the radiator cleaned, the guy did a good job and made a comment that it was in unusually good conditions so he agreed the 41000 miles would probably be accurate. New water pump and thermostat, new heater and radiator hoses. I did a bit of cleaning around the engine compartment, the inside as well. The interior is in great shape with the exception of the top of the arm rest. All lights work with the exception of the brake lights, I have to figure that one. That did not stop me from my first ride with my 8 year old daughter. It was great, she was looking for the controls to lower the windows.....and she felt like in an airplane because of the seat belts. The heater was working and being in Minneapolis, that was a plus during the ride. The top looks good with the original paint but there is rust under the driver's side, a large hole and the rusted frame rails are the next project. It has the 225 and it is manual three speed. A lot of the neighbors want to ride on the Valiant when it is safer. It is not a two door but it is my Valiant. This past week end my good friend Dave showed up with tires and wheels from his Valiant, he is going to 15 rims and disk brakes all around. My Valiant appreciated that. Any feed back/ ideas on frame rail and driver's side floor repairs on a four door Valiant will be appreciated. I have to learn how to post some pictures. Thanks A Gil

Sounds like the Valiant found a great owner, Welcome aboard.
