There are some on this Racer section.......Search under my posts.
It has been on Hot Rod Magazine Cover and detailed article. It was
invited to be displayed at Peterson Auto Museum. It was also selected
as one of the 50 most influential Hot Rods of the first 50 years of Hot Rod
Magazine.
It looks exactly as it did 30 or 40 years ago when it was built
and Street Raced every weekend with Big Willie and the LA County Street
Racer Club that I was Vice President. It has paid for the under 10K investment
in it many times over!
I am so very Blessed with the good memories from the Old Days!
It is a pump gas 340 with Edelbrock RPM heads and a 850 Demon Carb.
3:91 gear with my friend John Calvert's Springs and Bars. It will run 10's
when set up to do so thru the mufflers as run on the street.
Normally we run it in Pro on a two step and the out Hot Rod Project Feather
Duster in Sportsman on a brake petal. But there was not enough room in the 4 car
stacker. I was unable to get the Valiant to leave smoothly and consistently
on the brake petal, so we had to go deep to cut a light. Some of our competitors
realized this and attempted to go in first and block up the need time. We were just two
busy with helping race a dozen cars with our friends to have much tuning time.
These are the "new" Good Old Days for my Kids and Grandkids!
Jesus is Lord of the rough and tumble jungle equally as much as the
tranquil place of this world.
