Back in the 1960's there was some kind of group that showed youngsters had to produce, market, and sell a simple consumer product and I can't remember the name of it. I believe one product they made/sold in my neighborhood were wheel chocks. But each year or each geographical location chose to make their own product. It was a good learning tool for up and coming entrepreneurials.

With a length of small chain on the handle, they make a pretty good weapon, too.

Old drum brake shoes work good for that. For me it’s for air hoses, especially against the big aggressive tires.
