One or two weekends a month I work at the Lane Motor Museum giving tours of the basement storage area or “vault”. I don’t get to see too many of the full time employees as they aren’t in on weekends nor do I get a chance to work with the two other weekend guys Kevin & Aaron.
The museum has well over 500 cars and they keep as many running as possible. So today us weekend guys took some Museum cars to Cars & Coffee to promote the museum and actually work together for once. On the way there I drove a 1977 Alfetta & on the return I drove a 1990 Lancia Delta HF (High Fidelity). Aaron drove the 1970 Fiat 500 “Mare” Lusso which is basically a beach car with no doors & simple canvas top.
It was about a 25 minutes drive thru some of the nicer areas of Nashville with rolling green hills and moderate traffic, just a very pleasant and enjoyable drive even without air conditioning.
The Fiat got a lot of attention. We spent an hour or so talking to folks and telling them about the museum.
Oh the Alfetta was a very nice car but I can see why the Lancia Delta is a favorite ride at the museum, very responsive. But typical of Italian cars I could not see the speedo or the tach.
I didn’t take too many pics - was too busy driving.
